Our Story
KIGALINOW emerged from a simple but powerful observation: while Rwanda has ambitious goals to become a technology hub in Africa, millions of talented potential developers were being left behind due to language barriers.
Our founders, experienced Rwandan software engineers and educators, noticed that students were spending 60–80% of their learning time struggling with English technical terminology instead of focusing on actual programming concepts. This inefficiency was creating an unnecessary obstacle to Rwanda's digital transformation.
In 2022, we set out to change this paradigm by creating the first comprehensive technology education platform designed specifically for Kinyarwanda speakers. We began with a simple YouTube channel and quickly grew into a full-fledged learning platform as thousands of students demonstrated the dramatic improvements possible through native-language education.
The name "KIGALINOW" represents our commitment to making Kigali and Rwanda a center of technological excellence today, not someday in the future. We believe that with the right educational approach, Rwandan developers can compete on the global stage right now.
What started as a passion project has grown into a movement that's transforming technology education across Rwanda. We've maintained our focus on quality, culturally relevant content while expanding our course offerings to meet the growing demands of Rwanda's digital economy.
Our Impact
Since our launch, KIGALINOW has helped over 2,500 Rwandan learners develop technology skills, with many securing employment within 6 months of completing our programs. Our students report 300% faster comprehension and dramatically improved knowledge retention compared to learning in foreign languages.
We've partnered with leading Rwandan companies including Bank of Kigali, MTN Rwanda, and various government digital transformation initiatives to create career pathways for our graduates. Our employment rate within 6 months stands at an impressive 80%, significantly higher than traditional computer science programs.
